Navigating the complex world of university administration can be challenging for researchers at any stage of your career. This webinar will cover the university commitee system, what to expect when volunteering for administrative roles, how to be effective, and why you should care about committee work as an academic.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Don Desserud is Professor of Political Science and Coordinator, Journalism and Canadian Studies Programmes at the University of Prince Edward Island. Most recently, Dr. Desserud chaired the 2017 Palmer Conference, a specialized policy conference bringing together thought leaders on public policy issues in the context of US-Canada relations. His academic career has encompassed numerous administrative roles including Director of Faculty Development and Dean of Arts (UPEI), and Director of the Urban Studies Institute and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (UNB). Dr. Desserud appears regularly in Canadian media as a broadcaster and political analyst.
