GlycoNet-supported Zucara Therapeutics Inc. named Emerging Company of the Year

Life Sciences Ontario (LSO) has announced the recipients of the 2025 LSO Awards, recognizing individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to Ontario’s life sciences sector. Among this year’s honorees was a company that GlycoNet supported early on—Zucara Therapeutics Inc., which was named Emerging Company of the Year. 

Zucara Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing ZT-01, a first-class therapeutic designed to prevent hypoglycemia in individuals with Type 1 and insulin-dependent Type 2 diabetes. 

Currently in Phase 2 development, ZT-01 aims to restore glucagon secretion to prevent dangerously low blood sugar levels, potentially transforming diabetes disease management and improving patient quality of life.

The company has raised over US$50 million in funding, with investment and support from several partners and organizations, including GlycoNet.

The 2025 LSO Awards ceremony will take place on May 14, 2025, at the Automotive Building at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
