GlycoNet has teamed up with the University of Alberta’s Centre for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (CMASTE) to produce resources for use in Canadian high school classrooms.

 

GlycoNet-CMASTE Outreach Program

Chaque été, les chercheurs affiliés à GlycoNet accueillent quatre enseignants dans leurs laboratoires. Pendant plusieurs semaines, ces enseignants ont l’opportunité d’effectuer des expériences scientifiques, de devenir familiers avec les projets de recherche de GlycoNet et d’apprendre davantage sur les opportunités de carrière dans le domaine de la Glycomique et du STEM. Les enseignants utilisent alors cette expérience pour créer des ressources et des activités scolaires qui peuvent être utilisées dans les classes de science, de biologie et de chimie dans tout le Canada.

Carb loading: Edmonton-area science teachers go back to school for lessons on carbohydrates (Dec 1, 2018, Edmonton Journal)
High school teachers were on the other side of the classroom at the University of Alberta on Friday with the chance to play with the research on carbohydrates being done in their own backyard.
