was recognized at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ualberta.ca\/en\/the-quad\/2025\/12\/2025-innovation-awards-recipients.html\">University of Alberta\u2019s 2025 Innovation Awards<\/a> for the licensing of a CD33 splicing cell-based screening assay developed by his research group.<\/p><p data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"806\">Hosted annually by the U of A&#8217;s Technology Transfer Services (TTS) team, the Innovation Awards celebrate researchers who are translating academic discoveries into tools, technologies, and solutions with real-world impact.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"1152\">Dr. Macauley\u2019s licensed technology supports the study of CD33, a protein implicated in immune regulation and neurodegenerative disease, including Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
