Whistler International Award in Carbohydrate Chemistry, recognizing his contributions to developing tools to advance our understanding of glycans in bacterial disease.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Over the years, his research has covered every aspect of carbohydrate chemistry, from synthesis and NMR to computational studies and biology. He has also played a leading role in synthesizing and uncovering the functions of highly complex glycans found on bacterial surfaces.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The International Carbohydrate Organization will present the award at ICS 2026 in July.\u00a0In 1984, the award was established in honour of Professor Roy L. Whistler, to recognize scientists \u2018who have made contributions of excellence in carbohydrate chemistry and biochemistry and with promise of continuing significant contributions.\u2019\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>We also thank Dr. Lowary for his contributions to the formation of GlycoNet.
