GlycoNet joins BioTalent Canada’s partnership network

Partnership will improve the career prospects in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors in Canada

EDMONTON, Alberta (March 10, 2021) – The Canadian Glycomics Network (GlycoNet) today announced a new partnership with BioTalent Canada. As part of the partnership agreement, GlycoNet and BioTalent will mutually benefit through the cross-promotion of programs from each organization to its stakeholders. In addition, GlycoNet members will benefit from the BioTalent Canada’s bilingual “Technical Skills Fundamentals” Training Program, which aims to help trainees acquire specific, technical skills needed for successful transitions to the Canadian bio-economy workforce.

“We are looking forward to partnering with BioTalent Canada,” says Dr. Elizabeth Nanak, CEO of GlycoNet. “Highly qualified personnel is one of the main driving forces of the bio-economy. The BioTalent Training program will complement ours and will further enhance the skills of our trainees and increase their job readiness in the biotech and health industry.”

The Technical Skills Fundamentals Training Program includes online training courses on Scientific Report Writing, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Participants will complete pre- and post-assessments for the courses, and receive a BioReady™ certificate upon successful completion of the Program.
