Postdoctoral Fellow in Organic Chemistry
GlycoNet is seeking a highly motivated and skilled post-doctoral fellow in organic chemistry to join its dynamic and client-focused carbohydrate synthesis team at the University of Alberta. Under the guidance of the GlycoNet Scientific Director, Dr. Warren Wakarchuk, and the Node Manager, Dr. Sicheng Lin, the incumbent will develop and execute contract research projects in the area of synthetic carbohydrate and organic chemistry. This role presents a unique opportunity to actively engage in innovative scientific endeavours, collaborate with renowned experts and industry partners, and make significant contributions to advance glycomics research and development.

Research Accounting Assistant
Reporting to and working very closely with the Research Financial Analyst, the incumbent in this position is required to provide accounting support to the GlycoNet CEO and the Scientific Director, the administrative staff and all Network Committees and Boards with minimum direct supervision. 
Activities include
  • Assist in grant issuance and termination
  • Process expense claims
  • Manage account payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assist with symposium preparation (budgeting and financials)
  • Assist in preparation of financial reports, grant applications, presentations, meeting minutes and other materials

Executive Assistant
Reporting to the Research Financial Analyst and working closely with the CEO, the Executive Assistant provides comprehensive governance and administrative support to the CEO and Scientific Director, six GlycoNet administrative staff, Board of Directors, and GlycoNet committees, institutions, and investigators.
The Executive Assistant plans and schedules meetings, drafts communications, researches, compiles, and summarizes information, liaises between departments, assists with website and social media updates, and supports special projects including the Annual Scientific General Meeting and Annual International Symposium.
