A new enzyme family revealed…
GlycoNet Trainee Dr. Natalie Bamford is the first author of a recently published paper in Nature Communications “Structural and biochemical characterization of the exopolysaccharide deacetylase Agd3 required for Aspergillus fumigatus biofilm formation.”
She shared with us the story behind this paper, from what sparked the investigation of this research topic, to all the challenges she and her teammates faced when proving the hypothesis.
