“We are extremely proud of these two Vanier Scholars, J. Andrew Alexander and Natalie Bamford, for their excellent contributions to GlycoNet’s projects,” remarked Dr. Todd Lowary, GlycoNet Scientific Director.

The Vanier Scholarship program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral students, establishing Canada as a leading centre of excellence for higher education and research. Vanier Scholars demonstrate a high standard of scholarly achievement coupled with outstanding leadership skills. They receive $50,000 per year for up to three years of research.

Vanier Scholarships are funded by three federal agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
